Pinnacle Playhouse. Since 1969, the Belleville Theatre Guild has presented excellent live theatre and performing arts out of the Pinnacle Playhouse, the former D.L. Storey Centre, in Belleville. Quinte Sports Centre/Wally Dever Arena/Belleville Bulls. The Quinte Sports Centre in Belleville includes Yardmen Arena, one of the few Olympic-sized ice surfaces in Canada and home of the Belleville Bulls OHL Junior A Hockey Team. The Centre also features Wally Dever Arena, home of the Belleville McFarlands Senior A Hockey Team. Parrott Riverfront TrailParrott Riverfront Trail. The Parrott's Bay Conservation Area features over 5 km of beautiful hiking and cross-country skiing trails in a 186-acre park on Parrott's Bay. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the flora and fauna in this park, including colorful wildflowers, and a variety of bird species including the Great Blue Heron, Northern Oriole and Song Sparrow. Millennium Trail. In its developmental stages, the rustic Millennium Trail is a 48-km stretch through the heart of farming communities and villages, from Carrying Place to Picton. An abandoned railway bed, the designated multi-use hiking, walking and biking trail is open to ATV enthusiasts as well as snowmobiling. Empire Theatre and Center for Performing ArtsEmpire Theatre and Center for Performing Arts. With a major renovation in 2002, the 700-seat Empire Theatre and Centre for Performing Arts reemerged in 2003 as Belleville’s state-of-the-art theatre for live performance and cinema. Belleville's Empire Theatre offers live music, theatre and stage productions regularly featuring world-class artists. The building which houses the Empire Theatre opened as The McCarthy Theatre in 1938 as a venue for feature films and live performance. Glanmore National Historic Site & Museum. Home of Hastings County Museum, Glanmore was designated a National Historic Site in 1971 because of its outstanding architectural features including the elaborate mansard roof, decorative dormer windows, ornate frescoed ceilings, sweeping suspended staircase and intricate woodwork. On display throughout the house are original furnishings and a fine collection of turn-of-the-century art and furniture. The museum displays local history themes including a General Store circa 1870, a Pre-Confederation Homestead and an outstanding collection of lighting devices. Quinte SymphonyQuinte Symphony. Founded in 1960 as the Eastern Ontario Concert Orchestra, the Quinte Symphony is one of Quinte's most significant and highly acclaimed performing arts organizations. Heading into its 21st year, Shannonville Motorsport Park is Canada's most successful motor sport and road racing facility – attracting spectators and competitors from across the continent. Belleville Armouries. Belleville, Ontario is the Regimental Headquarters of the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment, a reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces. The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment is part of the 33 Canadian Brigade Group, one of four Brigade Groups of Land Force Central Area. The Land Reserve is made up of citizen soldiers who train part-time at local armouries throughout the year and full-time at military bases across Canada during the summer. Belleville Fishing. A fisherman's paradise, Belleville’s waterfront and yacht harbor is a popular launch for anglers and sport fishing enthusiasts after walleye, pike and bass. Spring and summer, anglers drop their lines from the banks of the Moira. Vacationers can rent boats and buy bait at spots near the Belleville waterfront for a fun fishing expedition. In winter, Belleville is a major ice fishing destination, where hundreds of ice huts dot the Bay of Quinte turning it into an offshore fishing village.
